Final Conference and outcomes of the PLAR-U-PAGs project

On March 25 this year, a mixed group of stakeholders gathered in Brussels for the final conference of the Erasmus+ project ‘PLAR-U-PAGs’, Peer Learning Activities and Resources to Underpin the Principles and Guidelines for Social Dimension.  The aim of this project was to support higher education institutions as well as public authorities in the implementation of the Principles and Guidelines to Strengthen the Social Dimension of Higher Education in the EHEA. The project also supported the work of the BFUG  Working Group on Social Dimension.   The Flemish Ministry of Education and Training hosted the conference, and felt privileged to welcome so many participants from both within and outside the European Union, bringing a rich diversity of perspectives and experiences. The audience was a diverse group, including students, representatives from higher education institutions, Ministries of Education, and organisations dedicated to advancing higher education. The geographical diversity enhanced the ability to learn from each other and address the challenges and opportunities in making higher education as inclusive as possible across the entire European Higher Education Area. Launch of the Project: Code of Good Practices on Microcredentials in Andorra

The Ministry of Institutional Relations, Education and Universities of the Government of Andorra held a pivotal meeting with the rectors of Higher Education Institutions on 12 May 2025 to initiate formal discussions on microcredentials at national level. This meeting marked the beginning of a collaborative effort to develop a Code of Good Practices on Microcredentials in Andorra, reflecting the commitment of Andorran higher education leaders to align with the broader goals of the European Higher Education Area.  Key Objectives of the Project  According to the national Law on Higher Education, microcredentials fall under the responsibility of Higher Education Institutions rather than the government. Recognizing this, the Ministry proposed the creation of a non-legal, consensus-based document to establish common standards and practices. The project aims to address several critical aspects:  Definition of Microcredentials: Establishing a clear and shared understanding of microcredentials within the national context.  Flexible Learning Pathways: Exploring whether microcredentials should be offered as standalone qualifications, through stackable credentials, or both.  Quality Assurance: Incorporating recommendations from the Andorran Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education to ensure rigor and credibility.  Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL): Investigating how microcredentials can enhance RPL processes by referencing specific learning outcomes.  Standardized Diplomas: Designing a sample diploma template, aligned with […]
